The yearly in person (and online) UK TRE Community event returns, once
more a satellite event of RSEcon, prepare for a day of lightning talks,
discussions and collaboration with the larger (and growing) community of
practice for TREs.

Back to the Fortran Future: workshop on sustaining Fortran research software

A huge amount of research software is, or relies on, Fortran code.
However, maintaining Fortran code is fraught with difficulties for a
variety of interconnected reasons including lack of suitable tools, the
prevalence of 'hero developers' in scientific software, and a dearth of
training. In this workshop on Fortran sustaining Fortran research
software, developers, software engineers, scientists and other
stakeholders will work together to 1) better understand the landscape of
problems 2) share good practice and 3) plan activities to support the
community.

The RSE Leaders meeting is an event where leaders of Research Software
groups can come together to network, celebrate successes and discuss
challenges in their institutions. Aspiring leaders are welcome. Lunch
will be served at 12:00, with our main meeting starting at 13:00. The
agenda for this meeting is currently being developed.
